Requesters can obtain a police report from the Rowlett City Police department-record division. The agency maintains, updates, and distributes police reports to the public when requested. How Do I Visit an Inmate in Rowlett Jail?

Visitors to the Rowlett Jai can contact and visit inmates' in four ways:

1. Mail

Inmates' families and friends are encouraged to write often so as to maintain association with inmates. Visitors should include the offender's name, TDCJ number, and unit address on the envelope when sending in emails to inmates. 3. E-MESSAGING

Friends and families of inmates are to purchase electronic Stamps online from www.jpay.com at the price of a U.S. postage stamp. Visitors are to write the message online and send it to the JPAY facility interface which is then downloaded and reviewed upon approval; the message is printed and delivered to the designated inmate. Inmates are only allowed to receive incoming mails and are not allowed to return the eMessage.

4. In-person visitation

Visitors must schedule a visit and must confirm their scheduled visit from the visitation unit to ensure that they are verified as approved visitors on the inmate visitation list. Any visitor not on the inmate visitation list will not be allowed entry into the facility. Visitors must arrive an hour before the scheduled visit as late arrival of more than 15minutes past the beginning scheduled visit time is not allowed as visitation will be canceled.

Visitors can only visit inmates on Saturdays and Sundays between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm, inmates cannot receive visitors on holidays. Visitors can arrange for a special visit which must be scheduled seven (7) days before the scheduled visit through the warden's office between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.

Visitor's rules and guidelines

  • Inmates are only allowed one visit every weekend
  • Only two adults are allowed entry and to spend two hours with inmates
  • Children under 18 years of age are not counted in this number and must be accompanied by an approved adult visitor
  • The number of children permitted will be determined by the number of available visitation spaces. Children must be accompanied by visitors at all times and are not permitted to wander off on their own.
  • Visitors 18 years and above are required to provide a valid state photo identification, if visitor photo identification is questionable or not accepted, further verification shall be required, such as birth certificate, pictured credit card, or other official I.D.
  • Visitors will be searched and scanned with a metal detector at the entrance of the facility
  • Visitors are to strictly follow the dress code. Shirts and shoes must be worn. Shirts and blouses of fishnet, transparent materials are not allowed. Sleeveless shirts and dresses are allowed but must cover the shoulders.
  • Only certain goods may be brought inside the facility by visitors. These goods include a tiny wallet or change bag with no more than $25.00 in coins. Visitors may only purchase things from vending machines in the visitation area to be eaten by offenders during the visit.
  • For security concerns or because of poor behavior by the visitor or the offender, visits may be terminated and future visits may be denied.
