The Texas Department of Public Safety reported a net total of 2,430 index criminal offenses in Guadalupe county in 2018. According to reports collated and published by the Texas Uniform Crime Reporting Program, 87% of the county’s crimes are property crime-based offenses, with 1,661 larceny crimes, 357 incidents of burglary and 119 reports of motor vehicle theft in 2018 alone. On the other hand, violent crimes were considerably less recurrent than other subsets, with 180 reported incidents of assault in the same year, 70 reports of rape and 38 and 5 incidents of robbery and murder each.
