Vital Records
The State of Texas issues and maintains vital records through the Department of State Health Services. The Office of The County Clerk functions in a similar capacity. However, while divorce records may be accessed publicly using the county's Public Record Search log, the County of Webb does not offer public access to or publish birth or death indexes in compliance with state laws.

The Vital Statistics Office of the City of Laredo Health Department is considered the custodian and issuer of vital statistics records. In compliance with state laws, birth and death records are considered confidential until after a minimum of 75 and 25 years prior to the day of filing respectively. Individuals seeking to access birth and death records or obtain copies of either must meet the state-set eligibility requirements which include:
