The Texas Department of Public Safety compiles and publishes a yearly crime statistics report for the state cities and counties. The annual report provides information on the rate and occurrence of index crimes reported by Ellis County law enforcement agencies. According to the 2019 Crime Statistics Report, Ellis County reported a total of 445 index crimes, a 16.1 percent decrease from the previous year. Whereas search credits purchased via mailed checks will be accessible once the payment is received.
