Crime Numbers
The Texas Department of Public Safety publishes crime data and statistics for all the counties in the state. In its latest report, law enforcement agencies in Randall County recorded a total of 524 offenses in 2017. Out of these, 96 were violent crimes while there were 428 property crimes. Recorded incidences of violent crimes include 60 aggravated assaults, 31 rapes, 4 robberies, and 1 murder. The county also recorded 81 burglaries, 285 larceny thefts, and 62 motor vehicle thefts in 2017.
The latest five-year crime trend for Randall County indicates that while larceny-theft rate remains unchanged between 2013 and 2017, law enforcement agencies recorded one murder in 2017, up from zero in 2013. In the same period, rape (520%), aggravated assault (57.9%), and motor vehicle theft (138%) rates increased while robbery (33.3%) and burglary (18.2%) rates went down.

The office is open to the public from Monday to Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., but closed on every first Thursday of the month, between 12 noon and 1:00 p.m.
The Texas Department of State Health Services issues certified copies of birth and death certificates for Randall County. Copies of birth certificates from 75 years to the present are only issued to individuals whose names are on the birth certificates and their immediate family members. Also, the Department only issues death certificates for the last 25 years to immediate family members. Acceptable Form of Identification is required to process requests for the two vital records.
To order a certified copy of a birth or death certificate, print and complete a Texas Birth Certificate Application or a Texas Death Certificate Application. Long- and short-form birth certificates cost $22 each. The first copy of a death certificate costs $20 while each additional copy requested together costs $3. Cash, check, money order, and credit card are accepted for payment.
