Its county seat is Linden.

It was named for Lewis Cass, a U.S. Senator from Michigan who had favored the annexation of Texas to the United States.

In Cass County, and across Texas, the State Police are required by law to maintain an up-to-date registry of all sex-offenders in their jurisdiction. Cass County Public Records

The County Clerk protects all records in Cass County. All key life events can be obtained within the county data files for each citizen.
