The Galvenston County Sheriff's Office processes requests for a variety of reports, including incident reports and arrest reports. Residents can obtain records in person by visiting the station or send a request by mail. The office also publishes an online list of sex offenders registered in the county. It includes general information such as the subject's name, age, date of birth and address. It also includes any known aliases.
In addition, the Texas Department of Public Safety maintains a regularly updated online registry of convicted sex offenders in the state. Users can search for registrants using their name, address, or proximity to institutes of higher learning. Searches can also be made using a specific name, zip code, or using a mapping tool that allows you to search for offenders within a particular address zone.
How to Find Inmate Information
The Galveston County Sheriff's Office maintains a public inmate list of persons currently held in county jail. It provides general information such as the subject's name, primary charge, booking agency and arrest date. Residents can filter the list by name, race, sex, age and charge.
Information on persons currently held in state correctional facilities can be obtained by contacting the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). The department provides a convenient online search portal that allows for Galveston County Inmate Searches using a known TDCH Number, the subject's name, or the SID (State Identification) number.
Galveston County Court Records
Galveston County's court system consists of district courts, criminal district courts, constitutional county courts and courts and laws. The district court clerk serves as the central custodian for court records, including judge decrees, court pleadings and documents used for any cause of action. It provides public access to criminal and civil court records via an online platform. Requesters can search for Galveston County court records by entering a record number or party name. How to Obtain Divorce Records
Members of the public can obtain copies of a divorce decree by contacting the Galveston district clerk office. The office also provides an online platform that the public can use to search for records and case information. Searches can be filtered to reveal cases by filing date or judicial officer.
Similarly, the Texas Department of State Health Services Vital Statistics Unit maintains records of divorces in the state. However, it only issues divorce verifications and not copies of the actual decree. Requests must include a valid government-issued I.D and a request form.
